CWC 2019 Pakistan vs England Prematch Analysis

Till now, England did not win any of the ICC Cricket World Cup. On the other hand, Pakistan got its only World Cup breakthrough back in 1992. The match was played at Melbourne Cricket ground. Pakistan Cricket team was led by Imran Khan (also the current prime minister of Pakistan). England cricket team was led by Graham Gooch. Young Wasim Akram gave the performance of his life and Pakistan won that final against England by 22 runs.
After the triumph of the ICC Champions trophy 2017, the Pakistan cricket team has not been really up to the mark. They got whitewashed by New Zealand in 2018 by 5-0. However, they managed to win the t20 series by 2-1.

Recently, the Pakistan cricket team had also toured South Africa. They did play 3 test matches, 5 one days and 3 t20s. They got whitewashed in test matches by 3-0, their performance was comparatively better in one day but it was not enough either. Pakistan lost the one-day series by 3-2 and t20 series by 2-1. After that, Pakistan has been recently got whitewashed by Australia at UAE by 5-0. This shows the fragile track record of the Pakistan Cricket team after their Champions Trophy victory. Still, fans are hoping that Sarfraz Ahmad will be the second Pakistan Cricket team captain to lift the World Cup trophy.

On the other hand, the England cricket team have shown their mettle to lift this year’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. England cricket team is being considered as the favorites to lift the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Their fiery bowling unit includes Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, Liam Plunkett, Sam Curran, and Adil Rashid. England cricket team also have a required depth in their batting line up. No team has such a resilient top four in their batting order as England have. Their key batting top order includes Jos Buttler, Alex Hales, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root.

England also has options like Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali and Sam Billings to be used as late order hitter in order to accelerate their run-rate. England Cricket team has always been a giant in the cricket world but they are yet to lift the World Cup trophy. They have been to the World Cup final once against Pakistan in 1992 but luck did not favor them.
England had toured India to play 5 test matches, 3 one days and 3 t20s.

England’s performance has been so much up to the mark that they won the one-day series by 2-1 and test series by 4-1. At the end of 2018, England toured Sri Lanka to play 5 ODI’s, 3 test matches and 1 t20. This time, they performed much better and won the one-day series by 3-1 (one match was called off due to rain) and test series by 3-0.

CWC 2019 MATCH NO 6 PAK VS ENG PREDICTION

If we look at the current form of both the teams, then England are the clear favorites to win this game. England has a compact and consistent batting unit. Their batsmen have been giving performances since the last World Cup held in 2015. England’s Batting unit have shown that they have the ability to chase any big target.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s opening zones are the worrying sign for them. Some people say that the Fakhar-Imam pair is best for the opening in the World Cup while few would argue that Abid Ali deserves a chance because he is technically more sound than Fakhar Zaman. This uncertainty of the batting order and no dependable hitter at the lower order of Pakistan team makes them much weaker against England.

Despite all these weaknesses in their Batting unit, Pakistan has always been a superb unit when it comes to the Bowling. They have some experienced bowlers like Mohammad Amir, Junaid Khan, and Hassan Ali. While youngsters like Shaheen Shah Afridi and Muhammad Hasnain are waiting to prove their skills in this year’s World Cup.

On the other hand, Bowling has been a weak department for England and I must say that it’s the only department on which they need to focus on. England’s bowling tends to choke in important matches, in crucial situations and that is what the worrying sign for them is.
In short, England is much more compact than Pakistan, but on their day, Pakistan can defeat any strong side in the tournament.

So, it will be an exciting contest to watch as a cricket fan. I hope you people will enjoy this contest also!
